200 Widows Benefit as Oba Sabigana Hosts Landmark 3rd Ramadan Lecture

As the holy month of Ramadan fosters reflection and devotion,traditional rulers, political leaders, and Islamic scholars converged on Iganna recently for the 3rd annual Ramadan Lecture hosted by the Sabigana of Iganna Land,HRM Oba Diamond Abdulazeez Soliu Oyemonla Agunloye. The event served as a platform for a stern call to national repentance and ethical leadership.

​The 3rd annual Ramadan get-together brought together a distinguished assembly of traditional rulers, legal minds, and political leaders from across the Iwajowa Local Government to discuss the theme: “Politics in Islam: Problems and Prospects.”

The guest speaker, renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Ibrahim Salmon Ajilogbaasho, delivered a stirring lecture on the necessity of integrity in the public sphere. He challenged those in power to lead with fairness, equity, and trust, noting that “politics is rooted in every human endeavour” and cannot be separated from Islamic values.

The event was more than a lecture; it was a demonstration of the virtues being preached. Hon. Oyewumi Muritala Abiodun, Executive Chairman of Iwajowa LG, and Barrister Rasheed Ademola Salami praised Oba Sabigana for his unprecedented philanthropy.
​”This gesture is the first of its kind in our history,” the leaders noted, referring to the distribution of palliatives to over 200 widows across the council area during the event.

The Elero of Ilero, Oba Wasiu Oyedele Saka Olokolonigi, echoed the call for justice, urging citizens to carry the discipline of Ramadan—specifically the principles of fairness and equity into their daily lives long after the holy month concludes.
​The event, held under the spiritual guidance of the Chief Imam of Iganna, Sheikh Surakat Amzat Aibinu, featured a “who’s who” of regional traditional authority, including:
​Oba Lawal Oyedele Alebiosu (Bajigan of Ilaji Ile)​Oba Mudashiru Oyewobi (Amuni of Ijio Land),​The Sabiganna-in-Council, led by High Chief Muraina Adekunle.

​The gathering concluded with a collective call for an “attitudinal change,” urging Nigerians to build an ideal society through godliness and fair dealings with their fellow man.
