2027: Ganduje asks North elements nursing presidential ambition to bury their idea

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has counselled northern elements nursing presidential ambition in 2027 to bury the idea, insisting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve his mandatory two terms.

Apparently reacting to former Kaduna state governor, Mal. Nasir El-Rufai who in a post on his verified X handle on Tuesday threatened that come 2027, the north will give the Tinubu’s administration the same treatment meted out to President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

However, Ganduje on Tuesday while hosting leaders and members of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Centre (PBAT Media Centre) and Tinubu Northern Youth Forum (TNYF) at APC National Secretariat in Abuja, told anybody dreaming that the presidency will come to the north in 2027 to wake up from their dream, insisting that such dream will remain a mirage.

The APC Chairman said the party will religiously follow the zoning policy by ensuring that “the north-south sharing formular is strictly be adhered.

“When a leader from the northern part of this country was in office for 8 years, we advocated that the next president in our party should come from the south.

“And luckily enough, we worked very hard with the cooperation of Nigerians. Our president has come from the south and is going, inshallah, for second term, 2027. And then after that, it will be turned to the northern part of this country.”

Addressing his guests, Ganduje acknowledged that the country has been facing challenges, he however attributed the situation in the country to long-standing issues that require bold corrective measures.

“There is no doubt that many things went wrong over a long period of time, and it requires surgery before we can get it right.”

Gabduje then expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s policies, stating that the country is already seeing positive results, particularly in the economy.

“We are happy that we have started seeing the outcome of the reforms, especially on the economic front, and we believe this will continue to yield positive results so that the legacy and the Renewed Hope Agenda will be achieved,” he added.

The leader of the PBAT Media Centre, Hon. Dada Olusegun said members of the centre are set to correct all the wrong information been peddled against the present administration.

He assured on the party leadership of their readiness to give adequate publicity to the 2027 campaign of the present administration.

Earlier, the national coordinator of the Tinubu Northern Youth Forum, Mal. Auwal Ibrahim promised the party leadership that his group has perfected plans to deliver 5 million votes for the President come 2027.

The group acknowledged that the policies and programmes introduced by the present administration have started to yield positive results in the region.
