Barr. Akeem Adedeji Agbaje has joined family members, political associates, and well-wishers in commemorating the 76th posthumous birthday of the former Governor of Oyo State, Sen Abiola Ajimobi, describing him as a mentor and a leader who understood the true meaning of leadership and lived it consistently in governance and politics.
In a reflective message to mark the occasion, Barr. Agbaje said the late two-term governor left behind enduring lessons in discipline, courage, and purposeful leadership, noting that his style of governance was anchored on vision, service, and a deep sense of responsibility to the people of Oyo State.
He stated that Sen Ajimobi’s tireless commitment to the development of Oyo State and his broader contribution to national progress continue to inspire leaders and young people across political and professional divides, years after his passing.
“Sen Abiola Ajimobi was not just a governor; he was a statesman who believed that leadership is a trust that must be exercised with integrity, firmness, and compassion. He lived for service and gave his all to the progress of Oyo State and Nigeria.”
He noted that the values and principles the former governor stood for remain evident in the continued relevance of his legacy, adding that recent developments, including the ambassadorial nomination of his wife, Her Excellency, Chief Dr (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi, further reflect a life devoted to national service and honour.
“The recognition accorded to Her Excellency, Chief Dr (Mrs)Florence Ajimobi, is a reminder that true legacies do not fade. They endure through character, service, and the lives that have been shaped along the way.”
Barr. Agbaje described the late governor as a personal guide whose counsel, leadership example, and commitment to excellence left a lasting impression on his life and public service journey, noting that the bond built over the years remains deeply cherished.
He prayed for the repose of the soul of the former governor and asked the Almighty Allah to continue to grant strength, grace, and comfort to the Ajimobi family.
“As we remember our koseleri on this 76th posthumous birthday, may his life continue to inspire us to lead with courage, wisdom, and selflessness. May Almighty God grant him eternal rest and preserve the legacy he so honourably built.”
