The Okere of Saki,Oba Khalid Olabisi, has called on individuals to live lives worthy of emulation, as he paid glowing tribute to the late Pa James Adebisi Akano Olaleye and Chief Mrs. Grace Aibinu Amope Olaleye (JP).
The monarch made this appeal on Saturday while attending the funeral and thanksgiving service held in honor of the deceased nonagenarian couple, where he was accompanied by members of his traditional council.
The event, held on April 11, 2026, drew family members, dignitaries, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the lives and legacies of the departed.
In his remarks, Oba Oyedepo III emphasized the fleeting nature of human existence, urging attendees to prioritize meaningful living and lasting contributions to society.
“We are all mortals,” the monarch said. “It is therefore imperative that every individual strives to leave an enduring legacy while still alive—one that will speak long after we are gone.”
He described the late Pa Olaleye and Chief Mrs. Olaleye as exemplary figures whose lives embodied integrity, service, and devotion to both God and community, noting that their impact would continue to resonate for generations.
The funeral service, conducted in line with the Order of Service, was coordinated by the Church Secretary, Mr. Segun Kolade, and officiated by the presiding pastor, Rev. Michael Olawale Boladale.
The memorial programme, themed “Celebration of Life: Forever in Our Hearts,” highlighted the enduring contributions of the deceased and the strong legacy they leave behind.
It is noted that the presence of Oba Dr. Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Oyedepo III alongside his chiefs added cultural significance to the occasion, reinforcing the value of honoring lives that have made meaningful impact in society.
