Okere rejoices over release of 20 abducted Oyo corps members

The Okere of Sakiland, Oba Dr. Surv. Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Oyedepo III, has expressed satisfaction and happiness over the unconditional release of the 20 prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members abducted in Imo State.

The monarch also rejoiced with the people of Saki, particularly the family and community of one of the rescued prospective corps members who is a resident of Saki.

The Paramount Ruler described the release of the victims as a welcome development, expressing gratitude to God and commending all those who contributed to securing their safe return.

He said the development had brought relief to the families of the victims and their communities, noting that the safe release of the prospective corps members was a source of joy to Nigerians, particularly the people of Saki.

Kabiyesi Okere further commended the security agencies and other relevant authorities for their efforts towards securing the freedom of the abducted youths.

He urged security agencies to sustain their vigilance and intensify intelligence gathering and collaboration to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.

The monarch also called on Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies with credible information capable of strengthening efforts to protect lives and property across the country.

He prayed for the continued safety of the rescued prospective corps members and urged them to remain strong as they recover from the psychological trauma associated with their ordeal.

He equally expressed solidarity with the families of the victims, describing their safe return as a moment of relief and thanksgiving.
