Tinubu Rally: Oluyede Draws Attention with Cross-Party OPARHA Contingent in Ekiti

The presidential campaign mega rally of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima in Ekiti State witnessed a notable political spectacle as Dr. Oluwole Oluyede led a large contingent of OPARHA supporters drawn from all 16 Local Government Areas of the state to the event.

Oluyede’s arrival at the rally venue was greeted with a rousing ovation as thousands of enthusiastic supporters accompanied his procession in a colourful display of political participation and solidarity.

The OPARHA contingent, comprising supporters mobilised across the 16 LGAs, attracted considerable attention with its distinctive orange branding. Participants waved flags and displayed banners bearing the photographs of President Tinubu, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji and Dr. Oluyede.

Particularly striking was the display of different political symbols within the same procession. Supporters carried PDP and Ekiti State flags alongside the OPARHA insignia and campaign materials bearing the images of the APC presidential leadership.

The spectacle presented an unusual political picture at the rally, with Oluyede, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), participating in the presidential campaign activities of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His participation has drawn attention to the conversation around cross-party political engagement and the possibility of cooperation among political actors despite differences in party affiliation.

The presence of PDP and APC symbols within the same procession added another dimension to the gathering, highlighting the intersection of political identity, individual convictions and participation in national political activities.

For OPARHA, the statewide mobilisation represented a public demonstration of its organisational presence across Ekiti’s 16 Local Government Areas and its participation in the Tinubu–Shettima campaign rally.

The movement’s supporters, identified by their orange-branded outfits, flags and banners, formed a visible contingent at the event, with their procession accompanying Oluyede into the rally venue amid cheers and applause.

Oluyede’s participation is particularly noteworthy because of his continued association with the PDP while engaging in activities connected with the presidential campaign of President Tinubu.

The development has brought renewed attention to the place of political identity in Nigeria’s multiparty democracy and the possibility of political engagement across party lines.

As the mega rally continues, OPARHA’s participation, featuring supporters from all 16 LGAs and a display of symbols associated with different political identities, remains one of the notable features of the Ekiti gathering.
