The nefarious acts of some perverts against small girls in Niger state has been in the news in recent months . This is where adults force themselves on under age children in carrying out sexual abuse
Just around January a Middle aged Man Bala Aliyu defiled a 10 years old daughter of his wife’s friend .

He has since been arrested by the police. The trend is that the act is often committed by those close to the families of the small children.
Also the Niger State Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old farmer, Umar Mohammed, for allegedly defiling a six-year-old girl in Mariga local government area of the state.
Mohammed, from Farar-Doka village, was arrested following a direct complaint at Bangi police Division that he defiled the girl while on an errand
Despite the stigma that comes with reporting such cases to the police , the police in Niger state have been intense in immediately arresting the perpetrators and the people have taken the gauntlet to report the cases to the police.
As sordid as the acts, every day stories of how minors and teenage girls were abused sexually continue to come and the acts continue to draw the attention of many who Always urge that justice be served on the perpetrators.
Some resident and civil right fighters greeted the acts with the usual call for justice, that justice must be served as deterrent to others.
A resident, Maikudi Danlami, said the only way to nib it on the board is to punish the perpetrators , to discourage others and serve as deterrent.
A psychologist Salihu Mohammed however said the trend calls for not only prosecution but thorough psychiatric and psychological examination of the perpetrators.
He posited that it takes people with psychological or psychiatric problems to reduce themselves to that level of forcing themselves on Minors and children
Severally, police in Niger state have arrested and promised to prosecute all the cases yet the cases of adult forcing themselves on Minors continue to persist, no doubt the perpetrators are sometimes left the hook, based on technicalities
The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Wasiu Abiodun has confirmed all the incidents and promised diligent prosecution.
