In a bid to support the educational pursuits of brilliant but financially disadvantaged students, a non-profit foundation, Timothy Adeyanju Lawore Education Foundation, has awarded educational scholarship grants to five deserving students.
The foundation, established in 2024 during the burial service for the late Pa Timothy Adeyanju Lawore,known for its commitment to empowering young minds, presented each of the beneficiaries with a sum of 200,000 naira to support their academic endeavors.
The scholarship award ceremony, which took place during the 56th Annual General Meeting of the Ifelodun Omo Ojeowode Parapo, was attended by dignitaries, foundation board members, and family members of the beneficiaries
Speakingonthedevelopment,the foundation’s Chairman, Mr. Niyi Fehintola, emphasized the importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty.
“We believe that every student deserves access to quality education, regardless of their financial background,our scholarship program is designed to identify and support exceptional students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to community service.”
The beneficiaries who are indigenes of the area,all 200-level students from various public universities across the country, were selected through a rigorous screening process. The selection criteria included academic performance, financial need, and community service.
One of the parents, Mrs S.O Salami, expressed her gratitude to the foundation for the award, said the grant would go a long way to empower therecipients.
“This scholarship will go a long way in supporting our children academic pursuits, the recipients will be more committed to making the most of this opportunity and giving back to my community.”, she said .
On his parts, the Chairman of the community, Alh. Jimoh Salami ,owed a gratification to the foundation for their generosity and commitment to empowering our young people.
