Keynote speaker, Sheikh Jamiu Ajadi Sanusi (Amin Olohun), delivered a powerful address linking spiritual devotion to social welfare. He argued that the pillars of Islam specifically Zakat (almsgiving) and Sadaqah (charity) serve as a blueprint for economic redistribution and poverty alleviation.

”True religious devotion is not found in isolation; it must be reflected in positive actions that uplift the wider society,” Sheikh Sanusi noted.

The 2026 lecture highlighted three essential drivers for sustainable development in Yorubaland which include Promoting transparent leadership at the grassroots level, transitioning from mentorship to active inclusion in community building and fostering mutual support across the 10 LGAs of the Oke-Ogun region.

Reflecting on the success of the gathering, Hon. Shina Peller reaffirmed his dedication to initiatives that harmonize spiritual enrichment with social progress. He described the annual lecture as a vital platform for “enlightenment and collective action,” aimed at building a more resilient and self-sufficient community.
