It is important,as a party,to always engage in meaningful permutations and ruminate over what and what are likely to be ahead of 2027 general elections. With less than one year to the next round of all season elections,it is not out of place to watch which way the cat jumps so that victory doesn’t elude us as a formidable party in 2027. In doing this,one is not laying claim to monopoly of electoral strategies and strategam but this one’s modest attempt to sensitize and oil well the party’s propaganda and campaign machinery in order to withstand present and future callings for APC as a political party.
WHY APC IS THE PARTY TO BEAT
As a party,APC has a lot of factors working for it: control of central government that is performing, political gladiators that are noticeable, a party with robust manifestoes, dominant electoral presence (in the states and the national Assemblies) and several other factors working for it. It has been predicted, several times over,that if APC can manage successfully several centrifugal and centripetal forces peopling it,the party stands a good chance of winning. The onus rests on our stakeholders and party stalwarts to put the party in good stead to coast home to victory. I simply pray that this comes into fruition. This can be elucidated in times to come.
ADC: THE PARTY TO WATCH
It will be politically suicidal to think that altogether,ADC is a green horn. As a party,ADC doesn’t only have the capacity to transform into a strong political organization but the capability to stand as a strong opposition party. It’s undoubtedly, a safe haven for all manner of disgruntled elements across the Nigerian landscape. In addition,ADC parades some political giants, including Nasir El Rufai,Rauf Aregbesola and Alhaji Abubakar Atiku,who were once the building blocs of the political behemoth that formed the APC. Let us please watch out. In politics,it is not only good to be active but also proper to be proactive.
ACCORD,THE BEAUTIFUL BRIDE
As it is presently constituted, ACCORD Party, though with a good showing, does not have other germane political factors to win a gubernatorial election. Even at a time when the then political giant,Sen. Rasheed Ladoja; now the Olubadan of Ibadanland who was that time a political aficionado,flied the gubernatorial ticket of ACCORD Party,it didn’t go well. This goes to show the impracticality of a third force in Oyo State politics. Quite unlike Ondo State, where Dr Olusegun Mimiko uses successfully Labour Party to swing electoral success in a gubernatorial election. This however doesn’t remove the relevance of the party as a deciding factor as it did in the 2023 governorship election in the State. Of particular note is the significance of Oriyomi Hamzat, the young Noveau Rich politician who got huge fame and credibility through assiduous and seeming diligent radio presentation in Agidigbo FM in Ibadan. With this,no further elucidation to show that ACCORD Party is really the beautiful bride and APC must package herself as a prospective suitor and ally.
CONCLUSION:- As shown in this short expose, the imperative of APS,in winning the governorship election in 2027 lies in her predictive abilities, proactive ness and deft management of various elements that make up the party. Aspirants must not pursue political ambitions alone but must also strive to identify, establish, promote and sustain the party’s corporate image ahead of the election year.
