ARSPON Mourns Passing of Founding President, Papa James Ibeto Umunna

The Association of Rural Surgical Practitioners of Nigeria (ARSPON) has expressed profound condolences to the family and friends of the late Papa James Ibeto Umunna, its founding President, who passed away recently.

In a condolence message, Dr. Gafar Amoo, National Secretary of ARSPON, described Papa Umunna as a “great rural surgical practitioner” who dedicated his life to improving healthcare delivery in rural areas.

“Papa Umunna’s demise has left an irreparable void in our organization and the surgical community at large,” Dr. Amoo said. “As a great rural surgical practitioner and the foundation President of ARSPON, he dedicated his life to improving healthcare delivery in rural areas, inspiring countless individuals, and shaping the future of rural surgery in Nigeria.”

Dr. Amoo praised Papa Umunna’s “tireless efforts, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to the growth and development of ARSPON”, saying his legacy would continue to inspire and motivate members to strive for excellence in their profession.

Prof. Mrs. Oyebola Adekola, President of ARSPON, and the entire National Executive Council, extended their sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased, wishing them solace in the memories of his remarkable life.

“May the family, friends, and loved ones of Papa Umunna find solace in the memories of his remarkable life, and may his soul rest in peace,” the message read.
