In a landmark ruling, the Court of Appeal in Ibadan has on Wednesday, 2nd April,2025 upheld the High Court’s decision in the Bagii chieftaincy dispute in Saki, Oyo Sta,putting an end to the prolonged legal battle, confirming High Chief Adegoke Ghazaal Alade Olasunkanmi Abdur-Rasheed Adekilutoro I as the rightful Bagii of Saki.
The Court of Appeal’s andmark verdict, affirmed the High Court’s decision in favor of High Chief Adegoke Ghazaal Alade Olasunkanmi Abdur-Rasheed Adekilutoro I as the rightful Bagii of Saki.
The case, initially filed by Prince Jimoh Olabode, also known as Niyaas, challenged the legitimacy of the current Bagii. However, Justice L.A. Ganiyu of the High Court of Oyo State, Saki Judicial division, had earlier ruled in favor of High Chief Adegoke Ghazaal.
Prince Jimoh Olabode Niyaas, dissatisfied with the verdict, decided to appeal the decision, seeking to overturn the High Court’s ruling in favor of High Chief Adegoke Ghazaal Alade Olasunkanmi Abdur-Rasheed Adekilutoro I as the rightful Bagii of Saki.
