Barr. Akeem Adedeji Agbaje, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and 2027 gubernatorial hopeful in Oyo State, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Christian community in the state following the election of Reverend Dr. Elisha Olukayode Ogundiya as the new Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State chapter.
Reverend Dr. Ogundiya, a respected cleric and seasoned leader, emerged as the state chairman of CAN for the 2025–2030 tenure, a development that has been widely received as a testament to his integrity, faith, and years of dedicated service to the Christian body.
In a goodwill message, Barr. Akeem Agbaje described Rev. Dr. Ogundiya’s election as a positive step for the Christian community in Oyo State and a reflection of the confidence reposed in him by stakeholders of the association.
“I warmly congratulate Rev. Dr. Elisha Olukayode Ogundiya on his election as the Chairman of CAN, Oyo State chapter. His emergence is not only a recognition of his outstanding leadership within the church but also a call to continue strengthening unity, peace, and moral guidance in our dear state.”
He further commended the Christian Association of Nigeria for its sustained role in promoting religious harmony, moral values, and social stability in Oyo State. He noted that in a diverse society like Nigeria, faith-based institutions remain vital partners in nation-building and community development.
