Celebrations galore as Okeho Day 2025 will hold Nov 29

Preparations are in full swing for the week-long activities leading to the grand finale of the 2025 Okeho Day Celebration.

The festivities will commence on Sunday, November 23, 2025, and conclude with the grand finale on Saturday, November 29, 2025. With โ€œRooted in Heritage, United for Education: A Grand Reunion for Okehoโ€™s Futureโ€ as the theme for this yearโ€™s celebration.

In a royal address, the Onjo of Okeho, Oba Dr. Rafiu Osuolale Mustapha, Adeiitan II, declared: โ€œWe are ready to welcome our sons and daughters from all over the world as we mark another historic celebration in our hometown with pomp and pageantry. It is always a joyous occasionโ€”an opportunity to celebrate our achievers, inspire our youth, and showcase the beauty of our community to the world.โ€

In his words, the Asiwaju of Okeho, Prof Segun Gbadegesin called on the sons and daughters of Okeho, both home and abroad to contribute immensely towards the success of the celebration and the development of their source.

Echoing this sentiment, the Egbe Omo Ibile Okeho Chairman, Dr Kasali Alarape Salawu, described this yearโ€™s Okeho Day as yet another opportunity to place Okeho on the global stage firmly.

He added that this yearโ€™s celebration carries the theme:

Providing further details, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Captain Ade Olopoenia, outlined the rich lineup of activities designed to make the 2025 Okeho Day memorable and impactful.

The celebration will kick off on Sunday, November 23, with a church service, followed by Heritage Rally Day in the evening.

On Monday, November 24, a community sanitation exercise will begin at the Town Hall, underscoring the communityโ€™s commitment to environmental cleanliness.
