Barr. Akeem Agbaje, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and two-term governorship aspirant in Oyo State, has joined voices across the nation to celebrate Nigerian children on the occasion of Children’s Day, describing them as the torchbearers of the nation’s future and the hope of generations to come.
In a statement released to mark the annual commemoration, the legal luminary extolled the resilience, creativity, and boundless potential that Nigerian children represent, noting that every investment in their wellbeing is an investment in the nation’s progress.

“Our children are the bearers of the nation’s torch into the future. As a country, we must rise to the sacred duty of securing for them a future filled with hope, dignity, and purpose. This begins with the creation of an environment that protects their rights, nurtures their dreams, and provides solid footing for the realisation of their full potential.”
He emphasized the importance of education, healthcare, and protection against abuse, neglect, and exploitation, urging stakeholders at all levels to reaffirm their commitment to child development and safety.
“It is our collective responsibility as parents, leaders, institutions, and government, to build a nation where every child can aspire freely and thrive without fear. Let us take deliberate steps to improve the quality of their education, health, and general wellbeing.”
“As we celebrate today, may we be reminded that the future we build for our children is the future we create for our nation. Happy Children’s Day to every child in Oyo State and across Nigeria.”
