asks to return seized property belonging to its employees
The Magistrate Court sitting in Saki ,Oyo State, has ordered Oyo State Police Command to return seized property belonging to employees of the proposed Tinath University at the site.
According to Magistrate H.A Adejumobi in a case suit number: OY/CCGA/SHK/MIS.88 /2024 between Tinath Property Development Company Limited,11 others and Nigerian Police, Oyo State Police Command.
The court made the order on Tuesday, 29th October,2024 while ruling in an application filed by the company’s counsel , A.Y Aderogba ,Esquire .
The decision concerns seized property during a raid conducted by the Police last year at the proposed Tinath University along Saki /Irawo road
The court also ruled that, the respondent should immediately return the property having failed to respond within the statutory requirements. And Considering the fact that the Oyo State Ministry of Justice through its legal advice has exonerated the company and other claimants from any criminal or civil prosecution. That the police erred in law to have taken custody of those items.
The items include Mazda Car with Registration Number AG5IGY, Chassis Number : JM3KE2DFOD0130207 and Engine Number: PE 30379409 , Honda Civic Car with Registration number: LN31ODE , Toyota Camry with Registration number: AGL3IYF and four MotorcyclesCourt orders Nigerian police to release property seized from the proposed university site along Irawo Road, Saki.
