Dignitaries,traditional rulers grace 3 days fidau prayers of late Waliyat Olabisi in Saki

It was a gathering of crème de la crème at the Palace of Okere of Saki, on Thursday, as mourners, Muslim faithful, traditional leaders, renowned clerics converged to perform three days fidau prayer for the late Olori Waliyat Olabisi, the second wife of the Okere of Saki, in accordance with Islamic funeral rites.

Two days ago, the social media space saw a flood of condolence messages after Waliyat Olabisi, which put the community in pensive mood.

The prayer sessions, led by prominent Islamic scholars, featured supplications, and prayers for the forgiveness and mercy of the deceased .

In a short poignant and thought-provoking lecture, the Chief Preacher of Saki , Sheikh Ibrahim Alaro reminded attendees of the inevitability of death irrespective of status and belief, urging them to reflect on their mortality and prioritize their faith.

“We are all mortals who will taste death one day,”It is a reality that we often try to avoid thinking about, but it is a truth that we must confront. Death is not just an event that happens to others; it is an event that will happen to each and every one of us.”, he said.

The lecture was seen as a timely reminder of the importance of living a righteous life, and of prioritizing one’s faith in the face of uncertainty.

The Chief Preacher’s message was not one of despair, but rather of hope and encouragement. He urged participants to use the reality of death as a motivation to live their lives to the fullest, and to strive for a deeper connection with their faith.

In a heartwarming tribute to the late queen, a prominent figure, Col. Gbenga Adegbola narrated the lovely moment of her birth, highlighting the joy and celebration that accompanied her arrival into the world.

Adegbola, who was a close friend of the royal family, shared fond memories of the queen’s life, including the moment of her birth.

In honor of the late queen’s memory, Adegbola announced a widows’ fund, seeded with a substantial amount .The announcement of the widows’ fund was widely welcomed by the participants, with many made their generosity and thoughtfulness.

Among those present are Senator Abdfatai Buhari, Hon. Shittu Ibrahim, Madam Hanah Ogunesan, council of traditional rulers in Okeogun among others.
