
Shiekh Ibrahim Hashim Asimi, the Grand Mufti of Saki Land and the Grand Mufti Of Tijaniyya Yoruba land Edo and Delta Statesp,represented Nigeria at an international conference in Casablanca, Morocco, on November 8, 2025. He shared insights into the life of Shehu Ibrahim, highlighting his close relationships with notable Nigerian leaders, including Emir Sanusi and Tafawa Balewa.

Shehu Ibrahim’s legacy is marked by his efforts to spread Islam and promote unity among Muslims in Africa. He established numerous Islamic and Arabic schools in Senegal and the region, impacting religious education in Nigeria and beyond. Some of his notable relationships include Abdullah Bayero, Emir of Kano, who pledged allegiance to Shehu Ibrahim in 1937, spreading the Tijaniyya Sufi order in Nigeria, President Tafawa Balewa, whom Shehu Ibrahim met with, strengthening ties, and Yakubu Gowon, with whom he promoted unity and Islamic education in Africa.
