Hallelujah is inconsequential,Oke-Ogun PDP slams Defectors,rally behind Makinde’s Presidential ambition

The Oke-Ogun zone PDP leadership has reaffirmed its support for Governor Seyi Makinde, insisting the party remains solid and united despite recent defections led by Senator Hosea Agboola.

All ten local government chairmen, vice chairmen, and political appointees in the zone have pledged their allegiance to Makinde and the PDP, dismissing the defectors as inconsequential to the party’s strength in Oke-Ogun .

In a communique issued on October 23, 2025, following a key meeting of Oke-Ogun zone PDP leaders in Iseyin, underscored the party’s solidarity with Governor Seyi Makinde.

The meeting, which brought together chairmen, vice chairmen, and political functionaries from the zone’s ten local governments, emphasized the PDP’s resilience and unity in Oke-Ogun, dismissing recent defections as inconsequential.

The councils’ leadership expressed unwavering support for Governor Makinde and the Oyo State PDP leadership, passing a unanimous vote of confidence in their leadership.

The local government chairmen and their deputies dismissed Senator Agboola and other defectors, stating that their political careers were built on the PDP platform, and without it, they hold no sway over Oke-Ogun residents, who have benefited from Governor Makinde’s people-focused governance and visionary policies.

They noted that Oke-Ogun Zone has experienced unprecedented development under Governor Makinde, citing landmark achievements in road infrastructure, education, healthcare, and agricultural reforms, and asserting that the zone’s progress cannot be sacrificed for personal interests.

BEING A COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF A MEETING OF CHAIRMEN, VICE CHAIRMEN AND OTHER POLITICAL FUNCTIONARIES IN THE 10 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN OKE OGUN ZONE OF OYO STATE HELD AT THE ISEYIN LOCAL GOVERNMENT CONFERENCE ROOM, ISEYIN.

We, the Executive Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and all Political Functionaries in the 10 Local Government Areas in Oke Ogun Zone of Oyo State, met in Iseyin, Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State, on Thursday, 23rd October, 2025, to deliberate on governance and the affairs of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Oke Ogun Zone and Oyo State.

At the end of the meeting, which was attended by all Council Chairmen and Political Functionaries in the Zone, we made the following resolutions.

1.) That we, on behalf of the Governments and the good People of the 10 LGAs in Oke Ogun, pass a vote of confidence in His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Governor’s and leadership of the PDP in Oyo State.

2.) That we express confidence in his decision to work with other national leaders to rebuild and strengthen the PDP as the most credible opposition platform that can rescue Nigeria in 2027.

3.) That we reassure His Excellency and the leadership of the PDP that our great Party remains solid and strong in Oke Ogun Zone, despite the recent self-centred decisions of a few individuals led by Senator Hosea Agboola, to abandon the Party, which made them politically.

4.) That Senator Agboola and the other defectors, who owe their rise in politics to the PDP, are nothing without the Party and cannot negatively influence the good people of Oke Ogun, who have witnessed the people-centred governance and insightful policies delivered by the government of His Excellency. With many landmark achievements in Oke Ogun and other parts of the State, including road infrastructure, educational and health projects as well as agriculture reforms, Oke Ogun Zone has never had it so good under any government and its people cannot be traded for personal gains.

5.) That we will work actively with all leaders and stakeholders in Oke Ogun to build the Party into a stronger and more formidable platform, which will deliver victory to all the candidates of the Party in future elections.

6.) The meeting was attended by the Executive Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, Secretaries, Chiefs of Staff to the Local Government Chairmen, Councillors, Supervisory Councillors and Special Assistants to the Local Government Chairmen.
