..considers his track record
A group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, specifically from Saki East Local Government Area (LGA), has urged Hon. Ayobami Ojo, Esq. to step out and run for the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections considering his track record and experience as a former member of the House of Assembly.
The group, which comprises members from all 10 wards in Saki East LGA, likely sees Ojo’s expertise and reputation as valuable assets in the upcoming election.
The initiative by the group, which goes by the name , the PDP Rescue group, began the process of drafting the party’s stalwart, Ojo into the race during a peace meeting held on Wednesday, 13th February, 2025 in Sepeteri, Saki East LG.
They however, urged the concerned stakeholders to make Ojo’s candidacy a reality , pointing out that in record time , Ojo has demonstrated the capability to serve humanity, inspire people of divergent roots and religious affiliations to drive development in the area .
Speaking with newsmen,a leader of the party ,Alh. Jimoh Ashiru Rewire said Ojo is the best option for the PDP.
“Certainly, Ayobami Ojo is the best option for the PDP and our initial contacts within various contending groups already indicate that we are on the path towards achieving effective consensus ”
On his parts, Nafiu Lawal appealed to Gov. Makinde to consider Ojo’s candidacy in the interests of the party and the constituency.
Another prominent member of the party,Nafiu Lawal advocated for Ayobami Ojo’s candidacy, urged Governor Makinde to consider his nomination in the best interest of the party and the constituency.
He highlighted the importance of considering the goodwill of both the party and the constituency in the decision-making process,said the party needed to field a tested and trusted hand at this point in time.
“We have empirically looked at all intending individuals who has shown interest and we have come to the unimpeachable conclusion that , there is none that has the track record and political sagacity than Ayobami Ojo. Ifedapo axis needs an experienced, steady and tested hand at this point in time ”
According to Nurudeen Alesinloye , he said Ojo has emphasized that, he is free from religious bias, noting that he will represent and serve people of all faiths equally, without prejudice or favoritism.
He maintained how essential to have leaders who are inclusive and respectful of different religions, cultures, and backgrounds, highlighted his lack of religious bias.
“He values diversity and is committed to serving the needs of all his constituents, regardless of their faith”.
