IGP Disu Hosts PCRC Delegation, Reaffirms Commitment to Strong Police-Community Partnership

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Thursday received a delegation from the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, reaffirming the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with community stakeholders.

The delegation, led by the PCRC National Chairman, Mogaji Ibraheem Olaniyan, included members of the committee’s National Executive Committee as well as representatives from various regional commands across the country.

Speaking during the visit, Olaniyan congratulated the IGP on his appointment and reiterated the PCRC’s loyalty and continued support for the Nigeria Police Force. He also commended Disu for what he described as his consistent recognition of the committee’s strategic role in enhancing national security.
In his response, Disu expressed appreciation for the PCRC’s sustained contributions, assuring the delegation of the Force’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the body. He, however, charged the leadership of the committee to maintain strict oversight of its members, particularly in the use of PCRC identification, stressing that it must be reserved strictly for legitimate activities and intelligence gathering.

The police chief further urged members of the committee to uphold high standards of conduct, noting that their actions must reflect integrity and reinforce public trust in the partnership.

The meeting highlights ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen community engagement as part of broader strategies to improve security and public confidence nationwide.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, confirmed the development in a statement issued in Abuja.
