In a landslide victory, Hon. Najeem Adenrele Abdullah, a former councilor and Chief of Staff of Saki East Local Government, has been elected as the new Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Saki East Local Government. The election was held at the Local Government Headquarters in Ago-Amodu today.
ITV ONLINE correspondent who monitored the exercise, can authoritatively report that, the atmosphere remained peaceful throughout the election process. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials and security agencies, led by Division Police Officer SP Paul Igbinovia, effectively oversaw the proceedings in Saki East Local Government.
Other elected party officials are Hon. Sunday Johnson from Ward 01, Agbonle as the Vice Chairman, Alhaji Sanusi Wahab, Secretary, Mr. Sunday Ogundare, Youth Leader, Mrs. Taiwo Ajarat, Women Leader, and Mr. Wake Adesope, PRO 1.
Hon. Najeem Adenrele Abdullah in his acceptance speech, expressed his gratitude and commitment to unity in his acceptance speech, saying: “I appreciate the trust reposed in me by the party members. I urge everyone to put aside differences and work together for the party’s success. Unity will be the focal point of my administration, and I pledge to work tirelessly to achieve our goals.”
The Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Adedokun Emmanuel Olalekan, who attended the party’s congress, expressed his appreciation and commitment to collaboration. “I thank all party faithfuls for their enthusiasm and dedication. I pledge to work closely with the newly elected officials to ensure our party secures victory in all forthcoming elections at the local government level,”he said.
