Kingmakers select new Obalufon of Sepeteri, forward name to Oyo govt

The kingmakers of Sepeteri have finally selected a new traditional ruler to fill the vacant stool of the Obalufon of Sepeteri, almost 12 years after the passing of late Oba Kareem Oyesiji Alatise , who joined his ancestors on 25th April, 2013.

The decision was reached on Tuesday during an election meeting held at the LG Secretariat in Ago-Amodu, the headquarters of Saki East LGA.

ITV Online , can authoritatively report that, four out of seven kingmakers selected one of the five contenders ,Alh. Abdfatai Oyebanji Oyediran for the position after an hour of deliberation while three kingmakers voted for Prince Abel Tunde Afolabi

The name of the chosen candidate has been forwarded to the Oyo State government through the local government and the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters for necessary action.

Speaking with ITV Online, one of the kingmakers, who preferred anonymity, said, “We have chosen a new Obalufon of Sepeteri, and his name has been sent to the Oyo State government. We now await a response from the state government.”
