Kolade Out ;Ajewumi In As Saki West LG Swears‑In New Secretary

The Executive Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Akinola, on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, presided over the swearing‑in ceremony of Hon. Ismail Ajewumi Amao as the new Secretary/Political Head of Asabari LCDA. The event, held at the council’s headquarters, followed the official relief of former Secretary Hon. Kolade Ojo, who was removed over alleged anti‑party activities.

In his remarks, Chairman Akinola described Ajewumi’s appointment as “a product of merit, hard work and careful consultation.” He charged the new Secretary to “emulate Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration by delivering infrastructure and services that uplift our people.” Akinola added, “Today’s inauguration marks not only the assumption of office but a renewed commitment to service in our council area. The public service is the core engine room of government, and I charge you to deploy your wealth of knowledge and experience in the discharge of your duties.”

He further praised Ajewumi’s track record, noting, “He is an astute leader with many years of experience, who has served in various public capacities and has distinguished himself.” Akinola urged him to be “magnanimous in office, serving the people of Saki without fear or favour, and always adhering to due process.” He emphasized that the present administration “is dedicated to transparency, inclusive development and people‑oriented programs,” and called for “synergy among all stakeholders to ensure harmonious relationship, efficiency, and progress in the area.”

Responding, Hon. Ismail Ajewumi expressed gratitude to the Akinola‑led administration, saying, “I thank you for finding me worthy of this trust. I pledge my full support to this government and will dedicate myself to the pursuit of excellence, with the help of God and the entire council.” With over 35 years of public service, Ajewumi added, “I will use my experience to mobilize support for the Peoples Democratic Party in this area and urge our faithful to remain strong and loyal.”

The ceremony was attended by members of the legislative arm, supervisory councillors, career officers led by the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), PDP leaders, family members, and other dignitaries, signaling broad community support for the new leadership.
