LAUTECH Iseyin Campus Closed After Student Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident

The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has closed its Iseyin Campus following the death of a student in a hit-and-run accident.

The university’s management made the announcement in a statement, expressing its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, a 200-level student of Agricultural Economics.

“The Management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso deeply regret to announce the tragic passing of a 200 Level student of the Department of Agricultural Economics, who was fatally wounded by a hit-and-run driver in Iseyin,” the statement read.

According to the statement, the university has approved a two-week suspension of academic activities at the Iseyin Campus, effective immediately, to allow students and staff to mourn the loss.

“Consequently, all students in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Natural Resources are to proceed on a two-week break,” the statement added.

The university has set Monday, November 24, 2025, as the date for resumption of academic activities.

The statement was signed by the University’s Registrar, Mrs. Olayinka O. Balogun.
