NAPS Unveils Digital Platform for Online Payment of Student Dues in Polytechnics

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has introduced a new digital payment system, the Paytogeda CampusPay platform, aimed at improving transparency, accountability, and efficiency in student union financial management across polytechnics in Nigeria.

The platform was formally unveiled at a high-profile event attended by student leaders, education stakeholders, technology partners, and members of the press.

Speaking at the launch, the Senate President of NAPS, Comrade Oyewumi Festus Ayomide, described the initiative as a landmark development in student governance and a significant step toward modernizing administrative processes within student unions.

According to him, the introduction of the platform signals a shift toward a new era where financial transactions within student bodies are fully traceable, verifiable, and protected against mismanagement.

“This digital payment solution represents a transformative approach to how student unions handle finances,” he said. “With this system, dues, levies, and other contributions will be processed through secure channels that ensure accountability and transparency at every stage.”

He further explained that the platform is designed to reduce disputes often associated with manual collection of funds, while also strengthening trust between student leadership and the wider student community.

Also speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of the platform and ICT partner, Olabode Aderogba, said the innovation was developed with students at the center of its design, with the goal of simplifying financial coordination and eliminating long-standing inefficiencies in union financial systems.

He noted that the platform ensures real-time visibility of contributions, detailed transaction tracking, and a structured approval system for all disbursements.

“Every contribution made on the platform is recorded, every transaction is trackable, and every payout follows an agreed approval process,” he said. “This is about building trust and ensuring that financial operations within student unions are both efficient and accountable.”

Aderogba added that the system would also help student leaders make better financial decisions by providing access to accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Stakeholders at the event commended the initiative, describing it as a significant reform in student union administration. Many expressed optimism that the platform would help curb financial mismanagement, reduce fraud, and promote a stronger culture of accountability across tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

They also noted that the adoption of digital payment systems within student governance aligns with broader national and global trends toward financial technology integration in institutional management.

The rollout of the Paytogeda CampusPay platform is expected to begin across participating polytechnics in phases, with training and onboarding sessions planned for student leaders and administrative officers to ensure smooth implementation.

With the launch, NAPS says it is setting a new standard for transparency and digital transformation within student unionism, positioning itself at the forefront of innovation in tertiary education governance in Nigeria.
