Mr. Olawoyin advised Okeogun indigenes to avoid sentiments and work towards a common goal of creating Okeogun State. He lamented that while efforts are being made to promote the New Oyo State agenda, little attention has been given to the Okeogun State creation initiative.
“We are disappointed that nobody has ever posted about Okeogun State creation. Instead, they have placed their energies on New Oyo State,” Mr. Olawoyin stated. He emphasized the need for unity and collective effort in achieving the goal of creating Okeogun State.
Olawoyin, proposed that the new university in Okeho could have multiple campuses spread across the Okeogun region, emphasizing that ,this can be achieved through unity of purpose among stakeholders.
“The university is for the whole Okeogun area, not just Okeho,” Mr. Olawoyin noted. He cited existing institutions like Okeogun Polytechnic in Saki as examples of regional educational assets. Mr. Olawoyin called on stakeholders to support the development of the university, ensuring it benefits the entire Okeogun region.
The body urged Okeogun political players to play a more active role in the 2027 general elections, aiming to secure key positions and emphasized that ,the Senatorial seat is non-negotiable
“Nothing stops Okeogun area from securing both the Governorship and Senatorial seat,” Mr. Olawoyin stated.
He acknowledged the three Senators from Oyo State for their support of Okeogun State during the Public Hearing on State Creation. However, he expressed disappointment that members of the House of Representatives from the region were noticeably absent.

โขholds Stakeholders’ Meeting in Saki
The Okeogun Development Consultative Forum (ODCF), the umbrella association for all the socio-cultural associations in Okeogun region on Wednesday convened a stakeholders meeting at Saki City Hall, where they deliberated on key issues affecting the Okeogun region. The meeting brought together critical stakeholders to discuss regional development programs and provide updates on ODCF’s activities.
The General Secretary of the Okeogun Development Consultative Forum (ODCF), Dr. Bimpe Aderounmu, provided updates on the organization’s efforts towards the creation of Okeogun State. He reported that Okeogun State (Okeogun Ponmbele) with capital at Agunrege was the Memorandum ODCF presented at the last Constitution Review Meeting organized by the NASS (Senate and House of Representatives) in Lagos. He said this was the agelong agreement of the forebears and what ODCF did was to dust up the old document and improved on it by updating the contents to agree with current realities.
The General Secretary further expressed concern that, despite the potential benefits of having Okeogun State, many people have been echoing through the social media the agenda of other regions.
In other word, following the fake-news that Ibadan State from the 14 LGAs of both Ibadan and Ibarapa had been created and the remaining 19 LGAs from Okeogun, Oyo and Ogbomoso, which had been debunked, many of Okeogun young people who are on social media have been calling for plan B that the capital should be in their various communities. We had different AI signboards that bore New Oyo State with capital in Ogbooro, Igboho, Saki, Iseyin, Iwere, Okeho, Ijio, and many others like that.
Dr. Aderounmu advised Okeogun indigenes to avoid sentiments and work towards a common goal of creating Okeogun State. He lamented that instead for our people to promote Okeogun State, they are helping the other regions who did not request for state, but the capital, to echo their own agenda.
“We are disappointed that nobody has ever posted about Okeogun State creation. Instead, they have placed their energies on New Oyo State,” Dr. Aderounmu stated. He emphasized the need for unity and collective effort in achieving the goal of creating Okeogun State.

On FUNATO, he emphasized that success can be achieved through unity of purpose among stakeholders.
In his exact word, Dr. Aderounmu said: “The university is for the whole Okeogun area, not just Okeho”.
