Hon. Jacob Oluwale Ogundiran, Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Igboho, has initiated extensive road grading and rehabilitation works across the council area, focusing on routes like Kajola road and Araromi-Olomo-Oba road.
In a press statement released on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Secretariat Complex, Idi-Elena, Igboho, Hon. Ogundiran explained that the road grading and rehabilitation project aims to provide motorable roads, crucial for enhancing security in the Local Government Area.
He stated that good roads will facilitate rapid law enforcement response, troop deployment, and crime reduction by eliminating ungoverned spaces used by bandits and criminals, often targeting farmers and daily commuters.

Hon. Ogundiran added that improved roads will reduce traffic delays, decreasing vulnerability to kidnapping and armed robbery.
“Motorable roads allow police and security forces to reach remote areas, which is often difficult due to poor, unpaved roads, limiting their ability to combat crime,” he said.
Hon. Ogundiran further explained that better road conditions will reduce slow travel, minimizing exposure to ambushes, decrease transportation costs, and improve economic stability for businesses and communities.
Hon. Ogundiran added that improved, well-maintained roads will reduce accidents, making travel safer, and contributing to local, state, and national stability.

The Executive Chairman, Oorelope Local Government, Igboho, Hon. Jacob Oluwale Ogundiran, promised to regularly rehabilitate unmotorable roads in the council area as funds become available.
The press release was documented by Mr. Abdulazeez A.I. Alaraje, Director of Administration and General Services, Oorelope Local Government, Igboho.
