Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has been commended for his steadfastness and strategic approach towards securing the state from unscrupulous elements.
The commendation was coming on the heels of recent kidnapping incidents that occurred in the neighbouring Kwara State.
The Elero of Ilero, His Majesty Oba Wasiu Oyedele Saka Olokolonigi and Onisabe of Sabe, His Majesty Oba Jimoh gave the charge at the Oke Ogun Traditional Consultative Meeting, held in Baasi ATISBO Local Government Council.
The meeting, hosted by the Onibaasi of Baasi, Oba Dr Sunday Azeez Babatunde Asunmo Modele was graciously attended by traditional rulers across the nooks and cranny of oke ogun.
While speaking with newsmen shortly after the meeting, the two traditional rulers said Governor Seyi Makinde should be commended for several initiatives to transform the state positively.
They noted that Governor Makinde’s approach in tackling crime and criminality in the state is yielding positive results in which the people of the state can now sleep with their eyes closed.
The duo stressed that there is significant development on every spectrum of the society since the present administration came on board.
They stressed further that the state has recorded unprecedented developments on security, health, education and social amenities during Governor Makinde’s regime.
The Elero of Ilero and Onisabe of Sabe admonished the state government to create a synergy with the traditional rulers in order to secure the state.
Oba Wasiu Oyedele also urged the state governor to engage local hunters at the grassroot to complement the effort of other security agencies.
The monarchs charged the people of Oyo State to be security conscious and report any suspicious movement to the police.
