Okeogun Islamic clerics commiserate with Makinde over children funfair stampede

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, the apex body of Islamic organizations in Nigeria, Oke Ogun Chapter, under the Chairmanship of Alhaji Ustaz Hon Dapo Yusuf and the Secretary Malam Tijani Giro in conjunction with the League of Imams and Alfas, Oke Ogun branch under the leadership of Chief Imam Abdul Akeem Olajori and the Secretary Alhaji Titilope Abdul Rahmon have commiserated with the State Governor, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde over the unfortunate stampede which led to the death of about 35 children at a children’s funfair in Ibadan.
The Islamic bodies through the association’s public relations officer,(PRO )Alhaji Olaribigbe Abdul Wasiu also extended their condolences to the parents of the victims and the entire people of Oyo, urging them to take solace in Almighty Allah who gives life and takes back.

The leadership of the two Islamic bodies admonished the state government to come up with policies and guidelines to forestall future occurrences of such unfortunate incidents.
The two Islamic Organizations used the occasion to commend the state governor Engr. Seyi Makinde for numerous developmental programmes being executed across the oke ogun area.

The religious bodies enumerated several unprecedented developmental projects that the Seyi Makinde led administration has executed in oke ogun area within five years, including the construction of Iseyin/ Moniya roads, Iseyin /Oyo road , Fapote/ Ogbomoso road and Saki Polytechnic road among others .

They eulogised the state government for the prevalent peace and stability being enjoyed in oke ogun, saying the governor has touched lives of the people of oke ogun.

They also highlighted remarkable improvement recorded in key sectors such as security, education, health care, agriculture and social infrastructure.

While pledging the associations’ unalloyed support and unwaivering commitment to makinde’s administration, the leaders of Islamic bodies urged Governor Makinde to bring about more developmental projects to oke ogun area in order to calve his name in gold in the heart of Oke-Ogun people.
