In a resounding call to action, the Oke Ogun Indigenous Youths Solidarity Forum has urged the people of Oke Ogun to remain resolute and committed to the overall development of the region. This appeal was made during the forum’s 2025 Annual ‘Get Together’ Programme, which brought together prominent indigenes, traditional rulers, and dignitaries.
The event, themed “Rebuilding Oke Ogun’s Legacy: Restoring our Historical Heritage, Transforming Education, Politics and Culture for Future Generations,” served as a platform for stakeholders to discuss the region’s growth and development. Speakers emphasized the importance of unity, stressing that disunity and individual ambitions have hindered the region’s progress.
Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, Hon. Shina Abiola Peller, and other dignitaries charged the youth to be the vanguard of positive change and rapid transformation in Oke Ogun. They emphasized that unity is essential for the region’s development and that it is not negotiable, especially with the 2027 election approaching.
The National President of the Miners Association of Nigeria, Chief Dele Ayanleke, and other speakers advocated for the industrialization of Oke Ogun through partnership arrangements and productive engagement of youths. This, they said, would drive economic growth and development in the region.
During the event, awards of excellence were presented to outstanding individuals who have contributed significantly to the growth and development of OkeOgun. Mr. Jenrade Kaseem Abiodun, a radio presenter, received a recognition award for his dedication to promoting the region.
