The Okere of Sakiland, Oba Khalid Olabisi , on Saturday attended the inaugural ceremony of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Iseyin Branch, held at the Iseyin City Hall, Oja-Oba, Iseyin.
The event drew a wide array of dignitaries, including members of the legal profession, traditional rulers, and notable personalities from within Oyo State and beyond, marking a significant milestone for the legal community in the region.
Delivering the keynote address, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Olanrewaju Akinsola (SAN), underscored the vital role of the legal profession in sustaining justice, strengthening democratic institutions, and promoting societal progress. His address was widely described as both insightful and inspiring.
Also in attendance were prominent figures such as the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe (SAN); the Oyo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Abiodun Ayodeji Aikomo; and the NBA General Secretary, Dr. Mobolaji Ojibara.
The monarch also commended the Chief Host, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Adeniyi Raji (SAN), and the Grand Host, retired Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, for what he described as a well-organised and dignified event befitting the legal profession.
He further lauded the leadership of the newly inaugurated NBA Iseyin Branch, urging members to uphold the principles of justice, professionalism, and service to society.
The Okere reaffirmed the palace’s commitment to supporting initiatives that advance peace, the rule of law, and community development.
