Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, HE Engr. Abdulrauf Aderemi Olaniyan, has urged Muslims in Igboho to unite and work towards a common goal.
Olaniyan made this call at the maiden public Ramadan lecture organized by the Igboho Muslim Elites’ Forum (IMEF) at the Igboho Central Mosque on Saturday, March 8, 2025.

In his remarks, Olaniyan congratulated Muslims on witnessing another Ramadan and challenged leaders, clerics, and organizers to put in more effort to ensure a united front in the Muslim community.
He emphasized that unity is essential for Muslims to heed the teachings of the Quran and the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The event featured a guest lecture by Sheikh Ismail Oluwafemi, the Grand Mufti of Igboholand, who stressed the importance of unity and love among Muslims.
The former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, who currently is the chairman of the governing council of the Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo, went further to react to the people of his community who still feel bitter on his unpopular impeachment, that his life as a Muslim is controlled by Allah, that he does not keep ill feelings or animosity with Governor Seyi Makinde or anyone at that but believes firmly as a muslim, that Allah is the architect of our destinies. He called for unity, harmony and communal cohesion, for the progress and development of Igboho and Oyo state at large.
Some of the dignatories at the Ramadan lecture were our royal fathers, HRM Kabiyesi Adetoyese Ona-Onibode of Igboholand, HRM Kabiyesi Arowoduye, Iba of Kishiland, The grand Chief Imam of Igboho, Imam Muhammad-Mudathir Oloola, Imam Kewulere of the Ansar-Deen Society of Nigeria, the Imam of Anwarul-Islam and other notable clerics. Others in attendance are Alhaji Ahmed Adegoke, the chairman of Ifelodun Omo Igboho, Prince Yisau Olabintan, the chairman of Idagbasoke Omo Igboho, Hon. Lukman Ishola, member, Oyo State House of Assembly, the Vice Chairman of Oorelope Local Government and other numerous community, religious and political leaders as well as women and youths from various zones of the community.
