The ancient town of Otu in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State was agog as people of timber and caliber converged on the palace of Oniro of Otu, His Majesty, Oba Sunday Adepoju Oyetunde Ayilola III to witness the installation of Chief Ojelowo Taiwo Thomas as Aare Amuludun of Otu land.
The epoch event held under the watch of the Chairman, Traditional Council of Obas, Itesiwaju Local Government; the Eleyinpo of Ipapo Oba Abdul yekeen Ademola Abioye, the Chief Imam of Otu, Abdul Ganiyu Abdul Salam Ayodabo, Reverend Omidara S.O.A of Ogo Oluwa Baptist Church Otu and the Obaseegun of Otu, Alhaji Olalere Kolaru.
While speaking on the auspicious occasion,Oba Sunday Adepoju congratulated Chief Ojelowo Thomas for being the first illustrious son of Otu to be honoured with such a chieftaincy title.
The monarch stressed that Ojelowo’s uncommon stride in education and remarkable contributions to the socio economic development of Otu town informed his decision to bestow an honourary title of Aare Amuludun on him.
He said the honour is also in recognition of his good deeds and philanthropic gestures.
Oba Adepoju reiterated that Chief Ojelowo’s venture in the hospitality industry and significant contribution to the educational advancement of Otu spurred his desire to bestow on him the chieftaincy title,first of its kind.
He therefore urged him not to relent in his service to humanity.
Oba Sunday Adepoju used the occasion to lauded the airstrips surveillance programme of Governor Seyi Makinde led administration and charged him to fastrack the process for the betterment of the people of oke ogun area.
The monarch eulogised former federal lawmaker, Federal House of Representative,Hon Kola Olabiyi for his good representation while in office and described him as a man of the people with lofty ideas.
The Oniro of Otu said Hon Kola Olabiyi brought about rapid development to his constituency through an inclusive and open door policy of representation during his tenure.
He urged him to sustain the tempo for posterity.
In their separate remarks an elder brother to the honouree, Mr Rufus Oluwasoji Ojelowo,Hon Alhaji Isiaka Olalekan Salami Obe, Hon Chief Adeyemo Jacob Akinrinade, and two jolly friends of the celebrant; Mr Fafunmi Mathew Olakuleyin and police officer zone eleven Osogbo, Mr Johnson Ale took turn to shower encomium on Chief Ojelowo Thomas.
They described his outstanding qualities on every strata as a rare privilege endowed by God.
They emphasized that Chief Ojelowo’s sterling records in education, politics and other human endeavours are worthy of emulation but urged him not to rest on his oars.
In his goodwill message,NUT Chairman, Itesiwaju Local Government Area, Comrade Siyanbade Joseph Adesoji commended chief Ojelowo’s humility, kindness, sincerity and relative impact on the lives of the needy in the society.
Comrade Siyanbade noted that his tremendous impact in education, politics and philanthropic deeds is beyond human comprehension and as such charged him to see his new leadership role as a challenge to his integrity.
While giving his royal blessings, the Eleyinpo of Ipapo Oba Abdul yekeen Ademola Abioye urged Chief Ojelowo Thomas to be steadfast and be responsive to the growth and development of Otu land.
Chief Ojelowo Taiwo Thomas of Osasu compound, ilesan otu was born on the 28th of August 1975 and graduated from St Andrew’s college of education between 1996 and 1998 before he proceeded to the University of Ado Ekiti for his education advancement between 2001 to 2004 and held many offices before his current position as the Vice Principal, Otu Community Grammar School,Otu.
He is blessed with wife and children.
