The Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Igboho, Hon. Jacob Oluwale Ogundiran, has presented two brand new motorcycles to vigilantes to enhance security in the area.

“Today is another milestone in our collective efforts to strengthen security across our Local Government Area,” Ogundiran said. “The Traditional Rulers, the Religion Leaders and Community Leaders are to work closely with all security agencies and vigilante members within their areas… They need our support to make sure that our communities are safe.”
He presented two brand new Bajaj motorcycles to vigilantes on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, following a Peace and Security Committee Meeting,the motorcycles are aimed at enhancing the mobility of vigilante personnel, supporting government efforts to improve safety in the council area.
“The security agencies cannot do it alone. They need our support to make sure that our communities are safe,” Hon. Ogundiran said. “This is why we are making sure that they have the right mobility to do that.”

The motorcycles are intended to improve security coverage in rural areas, allow better access to difficult terrains, and support the Nigeria Police and other agencies in reducing crime.
In a related development, Hon. Ogundiran laid the foundation for an Amotekun office at Alaguntan Area of Igbope, saying, “This facility represents my administration’s commitment to securing precious lives and property.”
Residents welcomed the project and appealed for a borehole and solar power system for the office.

Hon. Ogundiran urged the beneficiaries to put the motorcycles to good use, promising to acquire more as council finances improve, for distribution to security services across the Local Government Area.
The new Amotekun office, designed and approved by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ibadan, aims to boost operational efficiency, intelligence coordination, and tactical operations.

Residents of Alaguntan Area, Igbope, who attended the ceremony, praised the project as a boost to Amotekun’s morale and operational capacity. They appealed for a motorized borehole and solar power system for the office.
