The Muslim community in Owotoro has been urged to redirect their focus towards promoting Islam, leveraging their resources and influence, rather than prioritizing worldly gains. According to Fadilat Sheikh Abdrofih Oloko, an esteemed Islamic scholar, this approach yields greater benefits in both this life and the next.
At the launch of Owotoro Central Mosque and turban ceremony, Sheikh Oloko, the guest lecturer, urged the Muslim community in Owotoro to expedite the completion of the central mosque, which has been under construction for 44 years. He stressed the importance of wise stewardship of their wealth, highlighting that this would attract substantial divine rewards.
Aheikh Oloko called on Muslim leaders to refrain from politicizing Islam and instead utilize their wealth to promote and uplift the faith. He advised Muslims to direct their resources towards righteous causes, emphasizing that this would yield greater rewards from Allah.
The event, which drew Islamic scholars from far and wide, was also attended by prominent politicians from across the state. Earlier, Fadilat Sheikh Imran Adewale Atilola, Chief Imam of Tede land, delivered an address, stressing the importance of unity of purpose within the Owotoro Muslim Community.
He also urged the newly honored individuals to live up to the expectations placed upon them. In his goodwill message, Aderogba Aderonmu, Esq. a native son, called on the Owotoro Muslim community to remain united in promoting Islamic values and developing their homeland, stating that this unity is the key to their strength.
In their congratulatory messages, several dignitaries extended their warm wishes to the Owotoro Muslim Community. Hon. Busari Yakub, also known as Donbay, Minister of Power, was represented by Hon. Adesoji Richard Ojoawo; Chief Bayo Adelabu’s representative was Hon. Adesoji Richard Ojoawo; Senator Fatai Buhari was represented by Hon. Jimoh West; and Member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abiodun Were, was represented by Alhaji Sabitu Oloko. Additionally, Hon. Shehu Shitu Mai gida also sent his congratulations. They all urged the community to foster love and unity, emphasizing that this would drive the progress of Owotoro land.
They counseled the honorees to excel in their roles and uphold unity and cooperation to further the interests of Islam. The event, presided over by Fadilat Sheikh Yusuf Fasasi Oyekunle, the Chief Imam of Owotoro land, drew a large crowd of Owotoro sons and daughters from across the globe.
