Oyo 2027: Ajumobi emerges as ADC Chairman in Saki,Vows to Unseat Ruling Party

Members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Saki West Local Government Area of Oyo State have elected new local government executives to pilot the affairs of the party in the area.

The election took place on Thursday during the partyโ€™s local government congress held at IPMAN Hall in Saki.

The congress was supervised by Mr. Aderibigbe Hamid, who represented the state leadership of the party as Congress Supervisor.

Speaking at the event, Hamid alleged that the ruling government was attempting to weaken opposition parties, calling on members and supporters to unite and work towards political change.

โ€œThe government in power does not want the opposition to exist. That is why they are doing what they are doing. But it is a collective responsibility to chase them out,โ€ he said.

He added that the ADC is well-positioned to take over governance both in Oyo State and at the national level, urging residents to join the party ahead of future elections.

โ€œADC is ready to take over in the state and Nigeria in general. We need the support of the people. As I am talking to you now, ADC has better chances to win the next general elections in Oyo State,โ€ he stated.

At the end of the congress, Alhaji Salami Surajudeen Ajumobi emerged as Chairman of the Saki West Local Government Executive Committee, while Salami Jimoh Anisere was elected Deputy Chairman and Deacon Michael Babarinde as Secretary.

Other officials elected include Solomon Imoke as Deputy Secretary; Muftau Mumin A. as Treasurer; Hamzat Aminat Adenike as Deputy Treasurer; Akande Hassan Bakoja as Financial Secretary; and Ohanze Sunday C. as Deputy Financial Secretary.

Also elected were Shittu Gazali Idowu as Organizing Secretary and Adamu Akanji as Assistant Organizing Secretary, alongside Balogun Samsondeen as Auditor and Adewale Sulaiman as Deputy Auditor.

Barrister Yusuff Sulaiman Adekunle emerged as Legal Adviser, with Bolaji Alao Adetunji as Deputy Legal Adviser, while Salaudeen Semiu Ademola was elected Publicity Secretary and Olakunle Emmanuel as Deputy Publicity Secretary.

In other positions, Alhaja Waheed Serifat Adenike was elected Women Leader, Alfa Gafar as Persons With Disabilities (PWD) Leader, and Ogundeyi Oluwaseun Amoke as Assistant PWD Leader.

The youth wing saw the emergence of Oyelegbin Gabriel as Youth Leader and Jimoh Mukadas Adewale as Deputy Youth Leader, while Alhaja Suebat Dogo was elected Welfare/Social Secretary and Lawal Alimot as Deputy Welfare/Social Secretary.

Alhaji Muriana Akanbi emerged as Chief Whip, with Mukaila Raimi Adekunle as Deputy Chief Whip.

The congress also produced ex-officio members including Alhaji Adam Ojase, Alhaji Soliu Atanda Super, Fausat Liadi, Mrs Mulikat Rainat, and Ajagbe Jelil.

In addition, three delegates were elected to represent the local government: Alhaji Kasali Adewale, Alhaji Rafiu Adeyemi, and Alhaja Khadija Adebayo Nike.

The newly elected executives are expected to strengthen the partyโ€™s grassroots structure and mobilize support ahead of forthcoming elections in the state and across Nigeria.
