Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power and APC governorship aspirant, outlines his vision for Oyo State. He stresses that his ambition is driven by a passion to serve the people, particularly the poor and less privileged. Adelabu pledges to work towards the state’s progress and development if given the chance.
Addressing APC leaders, stakeholders, and members in Oke-Ogun Zone 2, Adelabu expressed his commitment to driving progress and development in Oyo State if elected governor in 2027.
Oke-Ogun Zone 2 comprises six local government areas: Oorelope, Saki East, Saki West, Olorunsogo, Irepo, and ATISBO.
The Minister, accompanied by notable figures including Abiodun Ambali (brother to the late former Governor Alhaji Wasiu Ajimobi), Alhaji Wale Sanusi, Alhaji Kola Amoo, and Alhaji Fatai Adesokan, among others, stressed the importance of party unity in preparation for the upcoming election.
Adelabu emphasized that the people’s interests would be his top priority, promising not to disappoint them if elected governor in the next election.
Adelabu declared, “With the full support of party members and the people, APC will wrest control of Agodi Government House from the ruling PDP in 2027.”
Adelabu asserted that a united APC is the rightful owner of Oyo State, while PDP is merely occupying Agodi Government House. He emphasized that division would lead to defeat, but predicted APC’s triumphant return to power in 2027.
Adelabu emphasized the need for internal democracy within the party, starting with the upcoming congress. He assured that no candidate would be imposed, and called for party unity, urging members to stand together as one.
Prior to the event, the Minister held a meeting with prominent APC leaders in Saki, comprising Alhaji Sulaimon Ajibade (Saki West), Alhaji Hamed Ayinla (Olorunsogo), Alhaji Balogun Mayor Alagbada (Saki East), Chief Lateef Ajemeje (Atisbo), and several other party stalwarts.
In his remarks, Hon. Kareem Abisodun, representing Saki West, Saki East, and Atisbo Federal Constituency, commended Minister Adelabu’s efforts in the power sector nationwide and sought his intervention for the zone. He praised Adelabu’s strides as Power Minister, describing them as immeasurable..
He pledged that the residents of the six local governments would massively support and vote for APC in 2027, ensuring the party’s return to power in the state.
A former state Commissioner, Hon. Raji Rasaki, said Adelabu’s visit to the zone was timely, given the proximity of the 2027 elections.
He affirmed that Oke-Ogun Zone 2 is a strong APC bastion, vowing that the zone will continue to demonstrate its support and deliver a massive vote for the party.
Alhaji Wasiu Ajimobi stated that the people of Ibadan solidly backed Adelabu’s gubernatorial aspirations. He urged residents of Oke-Ogun Zone 2 to rally behind Adelabu to wrest power from the ruling PDP.
Other notable attendees included Hon. Tajudeen Abisodun, former ALGON Chairman in the state; Hon. Yekeen Popoola; Alhaji Najeem Omirinde; Dr. YY Muslim ; Isiaka Ayanwale ; and Chief Enoch Adediran.
