In his bid to pursue his ambition as Governor of Oyo state in 2027, a former Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, today, 23rd of March, 2026, resigned from his position as the Chairman of the Governing Council for the Federal College of Education, (Special), Oyo.
In his resignation letter addressed to the Registrar of the Institution, who also doubles as the Secretary to the Council, Engr. Olaniyan expresses appreciation to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity he gave to him to serve as the Chairman of the Governing Council for the FCE, Special, Oyo.
He appreciates the confidence the president reposed in him, which enabled him to make his contributions to the development of the Institution.
He also expresses his appreciation to the Management, Staffs and Students of the Institution for the unwavering support he received throughout his tenure.
You will recall that Engr. Rauf Olaniyan defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to join the All Progressives Congress, APC, before the 2023 general election.
You will also recall that he was appointed as Chairman of the APC Support Groups for Oyo state by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023.
It is on record that the All Progressives Congress, APC, recorded a hundred percent victory in his Federal Constituency during the 2023 general election.
He hails from Igboho in Oorelope Local Government of Oyo state.
