Senator Abdfatai Omotayo Buhari, representing Oyo North Senatorial District, has quashed speculation that President Bola Tinubu has endorsed a particular candidate for the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.
While putting the records straight,Buhari revealed that Tinubu has not endorsed any candidate for the election, emphasized that the APC’s process for selecting candidates will be fair, transparent, and merit-based.
Speaking with newsmen after the APC stakeholders meeting in Iseyin, Buhari emphasized that the party’s ticket is open to all aspirants, and candidate will emerge through conventions, not anointments.
Buhari dismissed claims of favoritism, stating that anyone believing Tinubu would anoint a governorship candidate overnight is “daydreaming”, assured that the APC will treat all aspirants equally, with no sacred cows.
When asked about his future political plans,he revealed that his decision to pursue political seat in 2027 will be guided by God’s will, underscored the importance of divine guidance in his political aspirations.
