In the spirit of the ongoing congresses of the All Progressives Congress across the nation, particularly in Oyo State, one of the most dedicated and consistent women in Oke-Ogun politics, Hon. Ajarat Taofeek, has formally declared her intention to contest for the position of Party Chairman in Itesiwaju Local Government.
A respected former three-term Supervisor in the Local Government, Hon. Ajarat has remained a central figure in progressive politics within the region. Her declaration is rooted in years of active service, loyalty, and measurable contributions to party growth and unity.
According to her, after wide consultations with party elders, leaders, stakeholders, women groups, and youth across the Local Government, and considering the party’s zoning of the Chairmanship position to her zone, she has decided to answer the call to serve. She emphasized the urgent need for greater inclusion of women in leadership and decision-making positions, noting that inclusive leadership strengthens party structure and electoral success.
In her words:
“I, Hon. Ajarat, having been at the center of progressive activities over the years, contributing my very best at different times, humbly submit myself to lead our great party in Itesiwaju at this critical time. This is a moment that requires unity, experience, courage, and strategic direction.”
She further stated that at a time when the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu continues to gain momentum across the country, only leadership with proven capacity, unwavering commitment, political maturity, and grassroots connection can effectively mobilize and reposition the party for greater achievements at the local level.
Hon. Ajarat highlighted that her years of service, consistency, loyalty, and positive contributions to the party have equipped her with the experience, confidence, and strategic understanding needed to lead the party to greater heights. She reaffirmed her commitment to unity, transparency, fairness, and collective progress.
“As we proceed to the field for the necessary processes,” she added, “I appeal to our great party leaders, stakeholders, youth, and women across Itesiwaju for your overwhelming support. Together, we will build a stronger, more united, and more victorious party. I promise to lead with integrity, inclusiveness, and dedication, and I will never let you down.”
Hon. Ajarat concluded by reaffirming her belief in teamwork, internal democracy, and sustained grassroots engagement as the pillars for party success.
Thank you.
Hon. Ajarat Taofeek
