Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in ATISBO Local Government Area of Oyo State have rejected the recent inauguration of Mr. Iliasu Yinusa as the party’s chairman in the council.
The rejection follows the swearing-in of local government party chairmen by the APC State Chairman, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo.
At an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday, party leaders from ATISBO LGA West described the move as an imposition, maintaining that Mr. Tafa Muftau, popularly known as Ekuku, remains the duly elected chairman following the party’s congress.
According to the stakeholders, the congress that produced Ekuku complied fully with party guidelines and was conducted in the presence of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Party electoral Observers, and security agencies.
They warned that unresolved internal disputes could negatively affect the party’s performance in the 2027 general elections and called for urgent intervention and inclusiveness in party affairs.
The stakeholders in attendance included Chief Enock Adediran; Alhaji Muritala Animashahun; Engr. Adeniyi Mathew; Hon. Sangodipe Micheal; Mrs. Ajuwon Julianah; Mr. Ayandokin John, JP; Raji Kabir, APC Secretary; Mrs. Olubiyi Florence Ogundeji; Hon. Adepoju Rasidi; Hon.
