Oyo Lawmaker,Kareem Tajudeen Trains 100 Youths in Fish Farming,Stakeholders hail initiative

Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun (Were), lawmaker representing the old Ifedapo Federal Constituency, has empowered 100 youths from his constituency with modern fish farming skills and equipment. The five-day training program aimed to tackle unemployment and ameliorate poverty among youths in Saki West, Saki East, and Atisbo Federal Constituency.

The program, hosted by the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, provided hands-on experience and start-up tools. Hon. Kareem highlighted fish farming’s potential to create jobs, boost food security, and improve livelihoods. Beneficiaries received practical training and start-up tools, including fish scales, ponds, nets, fingerlings, and plumbing materials.

According to the lawmaker,”fish farming can create jobs, boost food security, and improve livelihoods. He made the remark at the closing ceremony of a fish farming training program for youths in his constituency, reaffirming his commitment to youth development and economic growth”

In the recent event, he was represented by Alh. Sabitu Olofa, who urged beneficiaries of a fish farming program to make judicious use of the opportunity.

Participants of Hon. Abisodun’s fish farming empowerment program expressed gratitude for the opportunity, noting it could help them establish profitable ventures and create jobs for others. Community leaders and stakeholders commended the lawmaker’s commitment to youth empowerment, urging others to emulate his efforts.

Mr. Awe Abiodun, the resource person,also lauded the facilitator of the fish farming training program, describing it as impactful. He highlighted ways to add value to agriculture and encouraged the youth graduates to venture into farming, emphasizing its lucrativeness.

Key stakeholders at the event ,commend the lawmaker for consistently prioritizing youth and women empowerment through initiatives like the fish farming program. They urge other representatives to follow his lead, recognizing the positive impact on the community’s development..
