The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State has assured Governor Seyi Makinde of their unwavering support, despite recent defections from the party.
A well-attended general meeting was held in Otu town hall, with party members from all ten wards converging to show their support. The meeting was attended by prominent party leaders, including State Party Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro; PDP House of Reps’ Aspirant, Hon. Taiwo Ajayi; Beulah Adeoye, Esq.; Chairman Itesiwaju Local Government, Hon. Monsuru Ojo Jolayemi; Former Chairman Itesiwaju Local Government, Hon. Idowu Azeez; PDP leaders Chief Emmanuel Taiwo Akinleye ,Hon. Ayo Ayansiji; and Itesiwaju Party Chairman, Chief Ganiyu Owolabi, among others.
In his address, the state party’s chairman,Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro commended Governor Makinde for his numerous developmental programs across the state, citing the construction of the Okaka-Otu-Igbojaye-Babaode road as a notable example. He urged party members to reciprocate the governor’s efforts in future elections.
He appealed to aggrieved members to put aside their differences for the party’s progress. Other party leaders, including Hon. Monsuru Ojo Jolayemi and Chief Ganiyu Owolabi, echoed similar sentiments, urging members to remain committed to the party’s growth.
Speaking on the development,a guber hopeful in the state,Beulah Adeoye,expressed gratitude to party members for their massive turnout, noting that it showcased the party’s strength in the area. He emphasized that the PDP would emerge even stronger in future elections.
Hon. Ayo Ayansiji also stated that the party is “waxing stronger and better” and urged members to remain loyal to Makinde’s leadership despite the recent defection of Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola Halleluyah.
