Oyo PDP stakeholders meet in Saki,attributes Hallelujah’s group as “cash-and-carry’ politicians

PDP leaders in Saki West LGA of Oyo state, have gathered to show their unwavering support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership. The meeting, attended by party bigwigs and officials from all 11 wards, aimed to assess the party’s performance and map out future plans. They praised Makinde’s impactful governance, citing improvements in infrastructure, agriculture, and social welfare. The leaders also resolved to intensify membership drives, especially among young people and professionals, to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence ยน.

In his remarks,the Commissioner for Investment, trade, cooperatives and investment,Hon. Niyi Adebisi praised Governor Seyi Makinde as a “silent winner” and achiever, saying he’s proven his mettle by winning many challenges. He contrasted Makinde’s performance with the opposition APC, describing it as ” Persona non grata”, and asserted that PDP is firmly in control in Oyo State, “ruling and raining” benefits.

Adebisi reassured PDP supporters that Makinde remains committed to Oyo State’s development and the people’s welfare, saying his administration prioritizes citizens’ well-being over personal interests.

Former member of Oyo State House of Assembly,Hon. Femi Julius, commended Governor Seyi Makinde’s accomplishments in Saki and Okeogun, urging PDP members to rally behind him to drive progress, saying unity is key to achieving their shared goals.

Adekunle Yusuf, Oyo North Senatorial District Vice Chairman, downplayed concerns over recent defections, attributing them to individuals’ selfish motives. He affirmed confidence in the PDP’s stability, emphasizing the upcoming National Convention will be peaceful. Yusuf accused Wike of acting on orders to disrupt PDP, leveraging federal influence to destabilize the party.

Hon. Adekunle Tunji Rafiu, Executive Chairman of Oyo State Pensions Board, also called on PDP members to stand united in the face of challenges, reaffirming their commitment to Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership and the people of Saki West Local Government. Speaking at a gathering of party leaders, executives, and supporters, Rafiu emphasized the need for solidarity, warning against divisive forces, including “political jobbers” and “cash-and-carry politicians” seeking personal gain. He urged members to remain steadfast, focused on building a better Saki West Local Government, and assured that together, they can overcome obstacles and achieve greatness.

Other speakers downplayed Hallelujah’s exit, calling it insignificant, and urged key stakeholders to express their concerns while keeping faith and perspective in check.

The meeting attracted prominent figures like Alh. Waheed Oluwakemi, Alh. Ganiyu Agoro, Babatunde Oladokun, and other notable personalities.
