The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State has successfully elected its new state executives, with Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro re-elected as the chairman and Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke as deputy chairman. Other key positions include

- Women Leader: Mrs. Olawumi Elizabeth Toyin (also referred to as Olawumi Toyin or Toyin Olaniran)
- Youth Leader: Bello Kazeem Olalekan (also referred to as Hon. Kazeem Olalekan Bello ,and Publicity Secretary, Ogunsina Oluwaseun Michael)
At the state congress, Governor Seyi Makinde expressed confidence that the PDP will retain power in Oyo State beyond 2027 and reclaim the presidency in the next general elections. He commended the party’s respect for internal democracy and the peaceful conduct of its congresses.³ ⁴

The Chairman of the Oyo State PDP Congress Electoral Panel, Senator Austin Akobundu, praised Governor Makinde’s leadership and described the Oyo PDP as one of the party’s strongest chapters nationwide.
Under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, this party has grown from strength to strength. The testimonial is the recent bye-election into the House of Representatives, which the PDP won.
