A Message to the People of Saki West Local Government

As a party in government at the state and local levels, we want to assure the people of Saki West Local Government that we will not allow political sentiment to be introduced into the matter of land lease. We believe in transparency and accountability, and we welcome scrutiny from members of society.

Our party and administration have a proven track record of delivering strategic development projects in the town, including:

Infrastructure Development: Completion of the dual carriage way, Oysada renovation, ongoing stadium construction, solar street light installation, and upgrade of Saki Ogboro road.
Healthcare and Education: Construction of a General Hospital and recruitment of teachers and civil servants.
Community Development: Installation of Okere after a 5-year interregnum.

Regarding the lease of lands, we want to assure the public that:

No Outright Sale of Lands: We will not support any outright sale of lands. Instead, we advocate for leases that follow due process and ensure the proceeds are well utilized for the benefit of the community.
Due Process Was Followed: The investigative panels set up by the legislative arms of the local government have revealed that due process was followed to the letter in the lease of lands.
Projects Will Benefit Society: The projects to be sited in those areas are of greater benefits to the society, and we believe that they will have a positive impact on the lives of our citizens.

We acknowledge that there were communication gaps and misinformation in the government circle and the public, which may have led to some of the concerns and criticisms. However, we want to assure the public that we are committed to transparency and accountability, and we will do everything possible to ensure that our citizens are well informed about our activities.

In order to provide more information and clarify any concerns, we will be extending invitations to:

The National Caretaker Committee of Saki Parapo
Representative of Okere in Council
Past Local Government Chairmen
Representatives of Saki Elites
Representatives of Religious Organizations

We believe that these stakeholders play a crucial role in our community, and we look forward to engaging with them in a constructive and transparent manner.

Looking ahead, we have advised the Chairman and members of his executive council to explore opportunities to acquire more land outside the town for future development. This forward-thinking approach will enable us to plan for the future and ensure that our community continues to thrive.

As we move forward, let us remember the importance of loving our future much more than our past and present. By doing so, we can create a brighter tomorrow for ourselves and generations to come.

We will not tolerate cheap blackmail or attempts to politicize our administration’s efforts. Instead, we’ll continue to work tirelessly to deliver meaningful projects and services to our community.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Signed,

Engr. Hamid Gbadamos
Former Deputy Governor i.
