Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in ATISBO Local Government Area of Oyo State have converged in Ago-Are to reaffirm their confidence in Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership. The meeting, which was attended by party executives, chieftains, and political officials from the 11 ward areas, aimed to review the state of the party and chart its political direction.

The gathering comes on the heels of Senator Hosea Agboola’s resignation from the party. However, instead of causing division, the development seems to have strengthened the resolve of party members. They described the senator’s exit as “a blessing in disguise” that would allow the PDP to regroup and consolidate its grassroots strength.

Speaking at the event, ATISBO PDP Chairman, Alhaji Bashir Olumuyiwa Alade, called for unity among party members and thanked leaders and stakeholders for their support during his administration. He also Councillors, Supervisory Councilors, Special Assistants, and other key stakeholders to prioritize the interests of ATISBO LGA and its people above personal interests.

Alade assured them of his commitment to developing ATISBO LG and ensuring the welfare of its people, stating that his administration will not compromise the people’s welfare for personal gain, expressing gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for the support and autonomy given to ATISBO LG, which has enabled his administration to achieve significant milestones.

Some of the notable achievements of his administration include the construction of police posts and Amotekun, bridges, culverts, and drainages, provision of solar-powered street lights, drilling of boreholes, and construction of the Kraal market to boost the local economy. Additionally, his administration has sponsored over 20 students to various higher institutions.

To demonstrate his commitment to the party’s unity and progress, Alade donated โ‚ฆ1 million to the party, urging members to close ranks and work together.

Other notable attendees included Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Legislative matters, Hon Samuel Adejumobi, and former Lawmaker, Ayobami Ojo,Esq.Both speakers dismissed the significance of Hallelujah’s exit, describing it as a distraction. Adejumobi and Ojo even donated โ‚ฆ1 million each to the party, while Ojo appealed to critical stakeholders to vent their grievances and factor God into the equation.

Other speakers at the event praised the party, describing it as a formidable force to reckon with in the local government area.

Each of the 11 ward party chairmen reaffirmed their unity and support for Governor Makinde’s vision for inclusive governance and sustainable development.

The meeting drew other notable figures, including Alh. Fatai Ojebisi, PDP Chairman; Alh. Ismail Adedeji, former LG Chairman; Elder Adebowale Adejumobi, former Chairman of Oyo State Tourism; Alh. Waheed Oluwakemi, Special Adviser on old Ifedapo federal constituency to Governor Seyi Makinde; Madam Christiana Nike Arewa, Member of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission; and other prominent personalities.
