PDP Saki East Holds Peaceful Ward Congress,Set The Pace For Others To Follow

The Saki East chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State successfully held a violent-free ward congress on Saturday, September 13, 2025 in Ojeowode. The congress, which covered Wards 6 and 7, elected new executives to lead the party in the area.

DN Kola Abimbola, a key party leader, commended the maturity and orderliness displayed by party members during the congress. “It is one of the most peaceful congress I have ever witnessed in the history of PDP ward congress,” he said. “Ojeowode PDP has set the pace for others to follow.”

Abimbola attributed the success to a consensus arrangement among various factional groups within the party. He noted that the peaceful conduct of the congress demonstrates the party’s determination to unseat the APC government at the national level in 2027. “What happened in Ojeowode is a threat to the opposition party as it’s now clear that the PDP is more organized than any other party in Oyo State,” he said.

The Saki East PDP chairman-elects, Raheem Azeez (Ward 6) and Idris Mukaila (Ward 7), expressed gratitude to party members for their peaceful conduct and cooperation.

Raheem Azeez said, “To God be the glory, they say charity begins at home. The PDP members have shown orderliness, they have shown maturity, they have shown that Saki East is ready to take up power come 2027 even in the future election.”

Raheem Azeez dismissed rumors of DN Kola Abimbola’s expulsion from the party, affirming that Abimbola remains a committed and astute leader within the party in the area.

Idris Mukaila added, “You know it is a family business, a family affair and as you can see there is no trouble anywhere. This is the kind of thing we always look forward to as a party.” He commended members of the party in the area for making sure that the congress was conducted under a peaceful atmosphere.

Abimbola also emphasized the need for Nigerians to come together and support the PDP to steer the nation on the right track, citing the current hardship imposed by the APC government. “We must therefore bury our differences, we should come together and join hands with PDP to steer the nation to the right track. If we don’t get it right as a party, Nigeria will continue to get it wrong,” he said.
