The palace of the Okere of Sakiland was transformed into a spiritual haven today, resembling a “Little Mecca” as hundreds of Muslim faithful gathered for a massive Ramadan outreach.
The distribution exercise, which took place on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, transformed the palace grounds into a hub of gratitude.
Hundreds of residents gathered to receive essential supplies, including bags of rice and semovita, aimed at cushioning the effect of current economic hardships.
Speaking on the initiative, palace officials noted that the gesture is a core part of the Okere’s long-standing tradition of supporting his subjects during significant religious seasons. The intervention is designed to ensure that families can observe their fast and prepare for the upcoming Sallah celebrations without the immediate burden of food insecurity.
”This is about more than just food; it is about empathy and leadership, the throne remains committed to the welfare of every son and daughter of Sakiland, especially during this sacred period of prayer and reflection.”
The event was attended by high-ranking traditional chiefs and religious leaders, all of whom offered prayers for the long life and prosperous reign of the monarch.
